Special Notes:
Phew! This one was a tough one for our dumping monkeys.
Just like Plague Innocence and its chapter 1 limitation, this game also
had limitations we had to patch out (no story mode, only a handful
characters and arenas, and that was it).
But it was not enough: none of the DLC / Ultimate content was unlocked
since you are supposed to install it from PSN even though it’s supposedly
the Ultimate Edition of the game.
Because we didn’t want to argue with anyone about whether
or not this release would be legit since it would have none of its Ultimate
content unlocked and available we made sure to also patch out these checks
and unlock all DLCs for you guys if you follow the steps below.
This means that all 37 characters, all stages, the extra story DLC (part 2
“Aftermath”) and all announcers voices along with ALL “Kollection” Items
(in the Kollection menu) are unlocked and available from the get go.
But that’s not all, because we care about the die hard MK fans we
also made sure that every unlockable/in app purchase content was available
(extra gear, skins, extra fatalities, intros and icons) since we know PSN
is not an option. That’s 12100 unlockables for you to look after.
The 5 Gear Packs we added also unlock all extra fatalities and intros.
If you don’t care about these extra unlockables/skins, feel free to skip
the following steps and no extra work is needed for you, enjoy!
But if you DO care about these, extra steps are needed (sorry, you gotta
work too!):
Detailed steps to unlock Skins:
1) Make sure the game is not running. Then copy MK11ItemDatabase.XXX
from the Skins Pack 1 folder into the game ASSET folder, replacing
the original file. (you can use ftp to your /mnt/usb device)
2) Boot up the game and enter the “Kustomize” menu
3) Enter the “Characters” menu
4) Select each character one by one then press X on it, wait 1-2s and press
CIRCLE to go back. Proceed to the next character and repeat this step
until you are done with all 37 characters.
Note : You will notice some skins are unlocked, some are not. This is
normal, because this is just Skin Pack 1 and the unlocks may seem
to be random. You have to repeat all this with Skin Pack 2
and 3 to finally unlock all skins.
5) Once you are done with all characters, you need to save the new skin
unlocks. To do that, make sure to navigate back to
main menu (press Circle to back).
6) Close the game properly (don’t let it run in the background – use
the switcher and close the game)
7) repeat steps 1-6 for the other 2 Skin Packs.
8) copy MK11ItemDatabase.XXX from the Backup folder into the game ASSET
folder, replacing the previous file.
9) Close the game properly and boot it up again. You now have all skins
for the 37 characters.
If you also want to unlock ALL 12100 items, you will have to
do the same process for Gear Pack 1 to 5, which means having to boot up
the game for each pack and selecting each character every time, then save.
Icon Packs 1 to 3 will only add new icons to customize your character
loadout, nothing too fancy that’s why we separated them if you don’t
want them.
Keep in mind you won’t need to do these extra steps ever again unless
you decide to delete your savegame.
FAQ :
Q : I don’t have all items even though I followed your guide. What happened ?
A : You may have forgotten to “enter” one character or you did not save the
unlock progress by going back to main menu before quitting the game
using the switcher.
Q : I only want all items for a certain character. How can I achieve that ?
A : That’s not possible because items are unlocked randomly when “entering”
characters to unlock items. Entering a character can unlock some items
for another character and nothing for itself.
